European Shopping Destinations

This post is expected to raise interest to shopping lovers. Below you’ll find my favourite five European shopping destinations.  The following cities offer you the ability to make purchases ranging from cheap buys up to expensive designers – the choices are endless. London Oxford Street 1. London, UK London is one of the best places for shopping, specially during its big sales during the Christmas period. The best places are the famous Oxford Street, Carnaby Street and Covent Garden.  Other areas which are enjoyable for shopping include Russells Square (Brunswick) or Enfield Town (Palace Gardens). There are also many shopping malls e.g. Westfield and Hammersmith Broadway. Here you’ll find all the high-street shops with the best prices. Brent Cross shopping centre is another place you can go shopping in North West London. For more luxury purchases visit Knightsbridge and step into Harrods. Don't forget  Selfridge & Co in Oxford Street. For a more characteristic shopping taste visit Camden Markets in Camden Town. Sales Period: The big sales start on Boxing Day (26/12) and end around mid January.  Summer sales start around min June and end around mid July. If you’re in London beginning the sales period make sure to go shopping early in the morning. 2. Athens, Greece  McArthurGlen Athens Outlet I love shopping here. You can find anything from leather goods around Monastiraki area and its surrounding small markets - called Monastiraki Flea Area. You will find chic stores in Kolonaki and Tsakalof Street or by visiting Attica.  For more down to the earth shopping try Ermou Street and the Mall of Athens. If you wish to purchase branded clothing visit the McArthurGlen Athens outlet or the Factory Outlet.  I prefer McArthurGlen since it's big with many brands and it's surrounded by cafes and restaurants. Sales Period: Summer sales start mid-July and run throughout the end of August whilst winter sales begin mid-January and run throughout the end of February.   3. Brussels, Belgium Avenue Louise in Brussels In Brussels you can find all sorts of shops in Rue Neuve and Avenue Louise. In the lower part you’ll find exclusive designer shops (Avenue Louise) and in Rue Neuve you’ll find [...]

Best Winter Travel Destinations

You might see winter travel destinations and what will come to you mind is snow right?  But this post its not only about cold freezing places. This is a collaboration post with other travel bloggers who are recommending a city for winter either because crowds are smaller compared to other seasons and this is the best way to explore the city. Off season also means that its cheaper because the city is not that popular compared to higher seasons. Some others cities in this post have been recommended just because they are very popular for Christmas time and some other places are just great to travel too just because its summer! Stockholm, Sweden Stockholm for winter? Yeh, its pretty cold but why not? A recommendation from me after visiting this city in winter. The city is covered with snow and looks beautiful. There are less tourists which makes it easier to see the famous attractions without having to wait in long queues. I encourage you to take a look at my post: Stockholm Highlights & Facts and see how many things you can do in Stockholm during winter time. When I visited it was February and it was cold however we enjoyed everything about it. Paris, France Katie from Creative Travel Guide is recommending us Paris the beautiful and romantic city of France as a winter destination. Paris is the perfect place to visit in the Winter. The crowds are a lot smaller than the Summer and the city is full of lights and Christmas decorations. The early evening sees the Eiffel Tower light up, illuminating the sky perfectly. This is my top city to travel to in Winter, it still holds all the beauty and romance you can expect from Paris but has that extra magic only colder weather can bring. You can find more about Paris at Katie's travel blog.  Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina Kristine from Pretty, Wild World is recommending us Sarajevo the capital city of Bosnia and Herzegovina as a winter destination. Sarajevo is the capital city of Bosnia [...]

4 Cheap Travel Destinations

Another collaboration post with three great lady travel bloggers recommending cheap travel destinations. This posts will introduce you 4 places to travel on a low budget (if you are looking for that option!). Destinations reveal in this post include, Krakow in Poland, Albania, Lambok and Tanjung Pinang in Indonesia. Enjoy reading the following recommendations based on real stories. Albania: Katalin from Our Life Our Travel  Albania is one of the cheapest and most beautiful countries in Europe. Me and my husband spent there a month this year while traveling around the Balkans, and it was our top country. The mountains are amazing, the beaches have crystal clear water, and they are less developed and less crowded than elsewhere in the continent. The hostel prices start from 5 euro per night, the hotels are also cheap, although we decided to rent our own house which costed the same as the hostels would have. Local food and good beer have low price. Fresh products are sold at the market places every day. Eating out is easily affordable even every night, just make sure you eat with locals and don’t end up a place serving only tourists. The public transportation is cheap as well, but we warned, it is quite slow.  An own car gives you mobility, and the road conditions not as bad as they were ten years ago. Only the driving culture needs more improvement. One of the best beach we’ve been was at Borsh. The seaside is surrounded by hills with olive trees. The beach is wide, clean, and the hotel business just about to starts. Check out and interesting story on: Road trip on the Albanian coast: our favourite beaches Read more stories from Katalin on her travel blog at Our Life Our Travel, check her Facebook page and Instagram for more amazing photos.   Lombok, Indonesia: Lauren from THE TRAVELLER'S GUIDE BY #LJOJLO Lombok, Indonesia is my little piece of cheap paradise. Situated east of Bali, Lombok is Bali’s lesser known yet cooler neighbor. Not riddled with tourists the island is obviously [...]
