Camel Park, Mazotos

An adventurous family day out    If you are looking for something different to do with your family, Camel Park in Mazotos is an ideal option for a day out. Mazotos Camel Park was founded back in 1998 as a camel farm but the love and care of the owners for animals made the place a home for more than 100 animals, including ostriches, goats, deers, ponies, wallabies, lamas, alpacas, lemurs, turtles, fish, a lot of birds and our 60 camels, that each of them has its own name and character. It is the only camel park in Cyprus and the biggest camel park in Europe, achieving the ‘Trip Advisor’ Certificate of Excellence for the past 10 years. Our day started early in the morning. We left Limassol and it took us around 30 minutes to reach the park. We paid and went straight to the Camels area before the place got crowded. My kids were not very keen to ride the Camels so we took a ride with a train and they enjoyed feeding the camels with carobs. We could have walked since the distance to move around the Camels area is small, however, we got the train for the kids who loved it. Both train and camel rides last about 10 minutes and are something that should not be missed! Camels at the Mazotos Camel Park Playground Area But it's not only about the Camels. There's a lot more to do when you finish feeding the Camels and taking the rides! There's a huge kids' area with a lot of activities for children to enjoy including a bouncy castle, swingles, sliders, bumper car, and a mirror room. Adults can sit back whilst kids play around. There's also an indoor gaming area with operating rides (the ones that you have to use coins.) Swimming Pool If you're going there during Summer, make sure to take your swimming suit with you since there's a swimming pool. The pool is included in your entrance ticket. Cafe & [...]

By staying around you will have more time to enjoy the surroundings, villages, scenery and the amazing food you can try at many local restaurants and taverns. Below I've listed some great things you should do and places to visit along with recommended places to enjoy a nice meal during your visit in the area. THINGS TO DO IN TROODOS AREA 1. Try some traditional Cypriot Sweets Considering that you are starting your journey from Limassol, Troodos Junction, on your way up to Troodos mountains, make your first stop at Katerinas Cyprus Sweets shop. "Discover village life in Cyprus through a luxury hotel resort and spa set into an ancient mountain range in this Mediterranean escape". Cyprus is full of surprises and hidden spots. One of these is Casale Panayiotis, a stylish boutique hotel in the heart of Kalopanayiotis Village. It's a place to relax and enjoy the village life. It combines a mixture of a luxury spa, elegant hotel rooms that remind you of Cypriot Village houses - modern and old. Nestled in the Marathasa Valley, on the slopes of Troodos Mountains, Casale Panayiotis is a complex of traditional houses which combine modern luxuries with traditional style. It features a spa center and elegant rooms overlooking the courtyard or the mountains. Rooms All rooms and suites used to be village homes that have been restored, retaining their original Cypriot character and touch. All rooms are heated and air-conditioned, provide a TV,  safe, minibar and kettle, whilst some other rooms have a sink and a mini cooker. Free toiletries, bathrobes, slippers, and a hairdryer stock the bathroom. A few rooms have a fireplace (there is a 10 Euros extra charge for a basket of wood). We stayed at one of the 5 Studios, Agia Marina no.5 which is located in the Old neighborhood, near the Agia Marina church (the room was named after the church). Our room had a fireplace which made it extra cozy and warm during the winter nights that we stayed there. BOOK NOW Eating The food we had whilst staying in the village was delicious. Casale owns a few restaurants including Byzantino Restaurant, Byzantino Cafe, Loutraki, Pantheo and Kava. In order to reach most of these places and other eateries around the village, you need to walk, despite at which room you are staying at. We had food in Byzantino Restaurant which serves local dishes. We also visited Loutraki Grill restaurant set in a contemporary environment with amazing village views. But note that Loutraki has a very limited selection of dishes. I won't forget the exceptional breakfast. A variety of traditional Cypriot selections, [...]

Paphos (Pafos) is a beautiful coastal city in the southeast of Cyprus. The history of this beautiful town dates back more than 9 thousand years, from the Stone Age, to the roman times, Byzantium until today. There are a number of sites that have been declared as UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Due to the fact that Pafos is the European Capital of Culture for 2017, I’m taking the opportunity to post the must Paphos sites in this beautiful town. Paphos Castle Paphos Harbour Castle is another UNESCO World Heritage Site located at the harbor. It's a beautiful stone-walled castle with a lot of history. Review: Manolia City Residences – Nicosia

Manolia City Residences is located in the heart of Nicosia, in the famous shopping street Stasikratous. We booked to stay there based on the top reviews it has been receiving since its opening, the low prices and of course its location. Prices vary from 45 Euros up to 65 Euros per night, depending on the room you wish to book. Location - Stasikratous Street The location of Manolia is their biggest advantage. As already mentioned, it is located in Stasikratous street, a safe street, where you can find a lot of designer stores, trendy shops and boutiques, including Max Mara, Karen Millen, Kem Handbags, Folli Follie etc. Besides clothing and shoes, you can find luxurious jewelers and boutiques. There are also some restaurants e.g. Fogo & Brasa, cafe/bars e.g. Stasikratous 30, Pralina etc. Makariou street is only a few meters away and there you can find all the high street shops e.g. Zara, Mango, Debenhans, Marks & Spencer etc. The old part of the city is just a ten-minute walk from there. Limassol Things to Do

According to TripAdvisor and the list of the Top 10 Traveler’s Choice destinations around the world, Limassol was ranked 3rd. Limassol is a city in Cyprus, on the southern side and the largest urban area.  Although the town has a history to look back on, it has left behind only a few pieces of evidence of its past since the city has been modernized and changed into a cosmopolitan appearance. Taking this opportunity and the fact that I live there, I’m listing below my recommendation for the 10 Limassol things to do. 1. Visit Limassol Marina for lunch, dinner, or a drink - an exclusive waterfront development where you can shop, dine or go for a drink. 2. Walk from the Old Port to Enaerios and enjoy the Limassol Promenade - I recommend reading my post. 3. Visit of the most important archeological sites of ancient Cyprus in Limassol. For more information check out my article Must-Visit Limassol Historical Sites 4. Visit the Castle of Limassol and have lunch or dinner at the surrounding restaurants. 5. See the ancient attractions at Kourion a spectacular archaeological site. If there's a concert or a theater planned there don't miss it - the amphitheater is amazing during the night when there's an event on - especially a concert. 6. Go to some of the famous beaches, Governor's beach and Lady’s Mile - after you swim make sure to eat some fresh fish from the surrounding restaurants. 7. Visit the Cyprus Historic & Classic Motor Museum - a new museum in town where you can see classic old cars. 8. Attend the Limassol Carnival (around February) and the Wine Festival (end of August, beginning of September) I hope you enjoy these 10 Limassol things to do.
